Certification Development Lead - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Certification Development Lead to join our team at Anthropic. This remote position is crucial for building and scaling a best-in-class certification program for our partner ecosystem. As a Certification Development Lead, you will play a key role in defining the certification strategy, designing the credential architecture, and building the program infrastructure from the ground up.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end certification program: define the vision, build the credentialing framework, and establish a multi-tiered certification path that scales with Anthropic’s partner ecosystem.
• Design certification architectures, competency frameworks, and assessment methodologies that measure real applied skill, not just content exposure.
• Build with the partner audience in mind: understand the needs, workflows, and incentives of systems integrators, consulting, and technology partners.
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across Applied AI, Product, and Engineering to translate Claude’s evolving capabilities into rigorous, current certification content.
• Partner with trainers to ensure alignment between training delivery and credentialing requirements.
• Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, GTM Productivity, and Revenue Operations to connect certification outcomes to partner performance.
• Define and manage relationships with credentialing vendors and collaborate on platform and delivery infrastructure decisions.
• Establish quality standards for assessments including validity, reliability, and fairness.

Requirements

• 7+ years in certification program design, credentialing, developer education, or partner enablement.
• A track record of 0-to-1 builds: you’ve established a certification program from scratch.
• Deep understanding of partner ecosystems, particularly systems integrators and consulting partners.
• Strong educational design instincts with a focus on competency frameworks and learning progressions.
• Experience with assessment methodologies beyond multiple-choice, including performance-based assessment.
• Baseline fluency with AI and technology products.
• Clear, structured communication skills.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience managing relationships with credentialing vendors.
• Familiarity with certification program economics.
• Background in technical credentialing, such as cloud certifications.
• Knowledge of psychometrics and credential validation.
• Experience benchmarking and learning from best-in-class programs.
