CAD Technician - Remote Position at CobbFendley
About the Role
We are seeking a talented CAD Technician to join CobbFendley in a remote capacity. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Subsurface Utility Engineering projects. What You'll Do
- Provide CAD support for Subsurface Utility Engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Utilize software such as MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed plans and profile drawings for utility facilities.
- Interpret utility records and civil engineering plans to prepare base drawings from survey data.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to design and prepare detailed civil engineering construction drawings.
- Maintain and update Geographic Information System (GIS) databases as required.
- Work independently and deliver error-free work products while adhering to CobbFendley’s safety standards.
- Engage in cross-training with other departments to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Participate in community engagement initiatives through CobbFendley Cares.
Requirements
- Experience and/or license in Computer Aided Drafting is required.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Strong computer drafting skills, including the use of line styles, cell properties, and project reference files.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to industry standards.
- Motivated to collaborate with professionals and clients to enhance industry knowledge.
- Interest in building relationships with clients and local organizations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Knowledge of civil engineering and utility symbols.
- Familiarity with utility systems such as electric, gas, and telecommunications.
