About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to lead our Aviation Safety Program and Safety Management System (SMS) at LTA Research. This pivotal role is crucial for ensuring the safety of our airship fleet and will allow you to work remotely while making a significant impact on aviation safety.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve the company's SMS and annual safety plan, acting on behalf of the Accountable Executive.
  • Publish the company's safety policy and champion a non-punitive, just culture.
  • Embed risk assessment methodologies into daily operations, maintenance, and training activities.
  • Manage the end-to-end hazard reporting system and ensure effective incident investigations.
  • Execute a layered safety assurance program and chair the monthly Safety Review Board.
  • Develop and deliver recurrent aviation safety training to promote a positive safety culture.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation safety, operations, or maintenance.
  • At least 3 years in a dedicated safety or incident investigation leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a SMS.
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience briefing executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with safety management and maintenance data systems.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience as an Aviation Safety Manager in a military or civil aviation environment.
  • Formal training in aircraft incident/accident investigation.
  • Experience designing emergency response plans in coordination with local authorities.
