AI Systems Architect - Remote Leadership Role

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Systems Architect to lead our AI engineering team remotely. In this role, you will architect and drive the design, development, and scaling of AI-driven systems that power Trafilea’s eCommerce innovation. As an AI Systems Architect, you will translate product vision into scalable AI platforms, including recommendation engines and LLM-based personalization, while mentoring a high-performing team.

What You'll Do

• Architect AI systems, including LLM-based workflows and recommendation engines.
• Lead technical decision-making, balancing innovation with production stability.
• Mentor and coach Software Engineers, setting coding standards and raising engineering quality.
• Manage multi-phase projects iteratively through Agile techniques.
• Drive adoption of agile rituals and own hiring, OKRs, and performance evaluation for AI team members.
• Establish weekly goal-setting meetings and structure bi-weekly leadership reports.
• Champion knowledge sharing through documentation, design reviews, and learning sessions.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and governance for AI systems in production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading dynamic tech teams on full stack applications.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LLM APIs, AWS, Golang, Node.js, React, and FastAPI.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to unblock teams quickly.
• Excellent communication skills to simplify complex AI concepts for diverse audiences.
• Deep understanding of AWS Cloud and experience with MLOps.
• Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work successfully with a globally distributed team.
