AI Security Intern - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

As an AI Security Intern, you will assist in ensuring that AI-assisted coding tools are used safely and effectively, making a significant impact on the development process.

What You'll Do

• Implement secure integrations for AI coding tools (IDEs, code review assistants, chat tools) that protect proprietary code and sensitive data.
• Build policies and technical controls around what data can be sent to AI systems, ensuring practical enforcement through redaction, allowlists, auditing, and approvals.
• Create automation and workflows that facilitate secure AI usage for developers, including secure-by-default configurations and self-serve access requests.
• Partner with Platform Engineering to integrate security controls into developer tooling, CI/CD, and internal platforms for smooth and scalable adoption.
• Define and track metrics for adoption, safety, and effectiveness, such as usage with guardrails enabled and incident trends.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree with graduation expected by Spring 2027.
• Experience with C++ or Python is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate security requirements into developer-friendly guidance.
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated interest in AI developer tools and practical security for engineering workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with security policies and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.
• Understanding of AI technologies and their implications for security.
