Agronomy Assistant - Remote Research Support
About the Role
We are seeking an Agronomy Assistant - Remote to join our team at the University of Guelph. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to agricultural research remotely while supporting field trials and experiments in Northern Ontario. You will work closely with the Agronomy Technician and researchers to implement and deliver research trials that enhance our understanding of agronomic systems.
What You'll Do
- Assist in planning and conducting research trials related to soil fertility, cultivar evaluation, and integrated cropping systems.
- Support field research trials, including small and medium plot trials and field scale comparisons.
- Implement experiments with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective execution of research projects.
- Learn to operate field and research equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in agriculture or a related field.
- Experience or willingness to learn about field research equipment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License.
