About the Role

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for an Advocacy Officer to join our global team remotely. This Advocacy Officer role focuses on the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA) and involves conducting advocacy to promote the endorsement and implementation of the Safe Schools Declaration. You will be part of a dedicated team working to influence UN and intergovernmental agendas related to education protection during armed conflict.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate joint advocacy efforts with GCPEA members and partners.
  • Support outreach and engagement with States, UN mechanisms, and relevant actors based on GCPEA’s 2026 Advocacy Strategy.
  • Represent GCPEA externally and internally, ensuring strong communication with stakeholders.
  • Develop advocacy materials such as reports, briefing papers, and presentations to support advocacy efforts.
  • Organize events in partnership with States and GCPEA members, providing logistical support for smooth execution.
  • Publish content for GCPEA’s communications channels to increase visibility of advocacy messages.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including organizing meetings and drafting minutes.
  • Support grant management by tracking progress and expenses, and reporting to donors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in advocacy work within humanitarian, human rights, or development fields.
  • Strong understanding of international humanitarian and human rights law.
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and organizing international events.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with social media for advocacy.
  • Advanced university degree in international relations, international law, or related fields.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on education in emergencies or multilateral education advocacy.
  • Knowledge of the Safe Schools Declaration and education protection frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is desirable.
