Actuarial Intern - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an Actuarial Intern to join our Life Actuarial Services Unit. This Actuarial Intern remote position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the actuarial field while contributing to key projects. You will report to the Chief Actuary and play a vital role in supporting actuarial reporting, data analysis, and various analytical initiatives that contribute to our team’s core projects and business outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Life Actuarial Services Unit with data management tasks, including maintaining client data within the database system.
• Perform initial validation of data and execute data cleansing operations to ensure data integrity.
• Retrieve and organize client product documentation efficiently.
• Provide support for actuarial tasks, including experience studies, valuation, and pricing.
• Conduct research on current issues and information in the insurance industry to support decision-making.
• Support systematic document organization to enhance team productivity.

Requirements

• Recent university graduate or expected to graduate soon in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to perform complex functions.
• Experience with SQL and familiarity with data manipulation libraries is preferred.
• Knowledge of Python or R is a plus.
• Actuarial certification studied or obtained is preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in English communication is preferred.
• Proactive, positive, and adaptable work attitude.
• Team-oriented with a readiness to collaborate.
