Activity Coordinator - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking an Activity Coordinator to join our team at Star Valley Health. This is a full-time, remote position that plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. As an Activity Coordinator, you will develop and implement engaging activities that cater to the physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial needs of each resident.
What You'll Do
- Plan, develop, and administer ongoing activities tailored to the needs and interests of each resident.
- Provide daily activities programming, including some evenings and weekends.
- Encourage resident participation and ensure needed equipment and supplies are accessible.
- Develop and manage the Activity Department budget effectively.
- Lead and direct Activity Assistants to ensure quality programming.
- Foster family and community engagement through newsletters and events.
- Complete MDS/CAA assessments and maintain compliance with all regulations.
- Assist with resident transport to/from activities and provide minimal assistance with mobility.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to remain composed in stressful situations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Basic computer proficiency and organizational skills.
- Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional.
- Two years of experience in a social or recreational program.
- Current CPR certification and a valid driver’s license.
Nice to Have
- Graduate of an approved recreational program.
- Experience in therapeutic activities programs.
