About the Role

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Admin remote to join our dynamic team at Compass Group. As an Accounts Payable Admin, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in our accounting processes.

What You'll Do

  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including reviewing and processing financial entries.
  • Receive, review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and approvals prior to payment.
  • Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Respond to internal and external vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies; make account adjustments as necessary.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable sub-ledgers; assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
  • Maintain organized accounting records, reports, spreadsheets, and electronic/physical filing systems, including 1099 documentation compliance.
  • Follow up on aging accounts and support financial and business transaction processing.
  • Develop and run queries using Access and Excel; prepare accounting and financial reports as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with 1099 documentation compliance.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
