Accountant/​Examiner 1 - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant/Examiner 1 - Remote Position to join our team at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations while working remotely. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks that help support our mission to care for Ohioans.

What You'll Do

• Perform accounting and financial analysis to ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Review and process claims, collections, and payments with attention to accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize basic mathematics and accounting principles to maintain financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or business school training in business or accounting.
• 1 course in accounting from college or 3 months of accounting experience.
• 9 months of experience in positions involving basic mathematics, accounting/bookkeeping, or document review.
• 12 months of experience in reviewing and processing claims, collections, or payments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience with public sector accounting.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
