Vice President of Legal - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President of Legal to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. As the Vice President of Legal, you will play a critical role in shaping the legal framework of our organization, ensuring compliance and providing legal guidance across various sectors including Biotech, Consumer Products, and E-commerce.

What You'll Do

• Lead the legal function, overseeing all legal operations and compliance matters.
• Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and draft complex commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Manage legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, particularly in healthcare and consumer product sectors.
• Engage in knowledge management and process improvement initiatives to enhance legal operations.
• Participate in the development of corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a legal role, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and legal advisory within the Biotech or Consumer Products industries.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, particularly HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
• Experience in managing legal teams and projects effectively.
• Ability to work independently and make sound legal decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in SaaS contracts and financial services law.
• Familiarity with venture capital and corporate law.
• Previous in-house counsel experience.
