About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Buyer for Customer Projects in Automation - Remote to join our dynamic team at ZEISS. As a pivotal member of the global strategic purchasing team, you will drive the growth of our Industrial Quality Solutions sector, leveraging over 100 years of tradition in pioneering measurement technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in innovative engineering projects and contribute to the future of measurement technology.

What You'll Do

• Lead strategic purchasing activities from project kickoff to industrialization, ensuring alignment with project teams.
• Negotiate contracts with partners and conduct global tenders to establish a robust supplier base.
• Qualify new suppliers and collaborate closely with the Lead Buyer in the strategic purchasing team.
• Actively assess risks and maintain a comprehensive view to ensure sustainability throughout the product development phase.
• Contribute to the standardization and improvement of processes, particularly in project purchasing, enhancing the strategic purchasing function.

Requirements

• A completed degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in technical purchasing within an international industrial company, preferably in automation or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in purchasing technical components in development and project environments.
• A structured working style and a high level of responsibility.
• Team-oriented with a strong presence towards development teams and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Good English skills and knowledge of SAP.

• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
