About the Role

We are excited to offer a Tax Internship - Winter 2027 - Remote opportunity at HCVT. As a Tax Intern, you will engage in preparing federal and multi-state income tax returns while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment. This Tax Internship will allow you to work closely with experienced professionals and develop your skills in tax preparation and research.

What You'll Do

• Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for various entities.
• Complete projects within engagement timelines and budgets.
• Utilize tax preparation software to enhance service quality.
• Perform self-reviews of your work to ensure accuracy.
• Conduct tax technical research as assigned.
• Build strong relationships with firm professionals.
• Participate in training and firm activities to enhance your learning.
• Work on professional development with your buddy and performance manager.

Requirements

• On track to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or taxation by mid-2028.
• Available to work 30 – 40+ hours a week from January to April.
• Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
• Active membership in a campus accounting organization.
• Strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills.
• Leadership skills with good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to learn quickly and receptive to feedback.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities with high attention to detail.
• A positive attitude with a team player mentality.

Nice to Have

• Previous internship experience in tax or accounting.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software.
• Involvement in extracurricular activities related to accounting.
