Sterile Processing Technician - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Children’s National Hospital. This remote position involves the inspection, preparation, receipt, and issuance of sterile processing equipment and supplies to the Operating Room and inpatient units. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the clinical operations of the Operating Room. Your expertise will ensure that all surgical instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and maintained, contributing to the safety and well-being of our patients.

What You'll Do

• Perform inspections and prepare surgical instruments and supplies for sterilization.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with Operating Room staff regarding equipment needs and supply availability.
• Demonstrate aseptic techniques and maintain a sterile environment at all times.
• Assist in inventory management and supply maintenance for surgical procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or in a similar role.
• Certification as a registered central service technician (CRCST) is required.
• Moderate computer skills and effective communication abilities.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and basic calculations.
