About the Role
Earthjustice is excited to offer a Spring 2026 Legal Internship – Crosscutting Toxics & Drinking Water - Remote. This internship provides an incredible opportunity for law students to engage in meaningful work that contributes to environmental justice while gaining valuable experience in the legal field. As a legal intern, you will have the chance to work remotely within the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from one of our offices, allowing you to balance your studies with practical legal work.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with experienced attorneys on legal strategies related to cross-cutting toxics and drinking water issues.
- Perform legal and factual research to support ongoing cases and initiatives.
- Assist in drafting legislation and community tools that promote environmental justice.
- Participate in court proceedings and oral arguments, gaining firsthand experience in the legal process.
- Commit to at least 12 hours per week, ensuring a meaningful contribution to our projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L during Spring 2026.
- Strong interest in environmental justice and related legal issues.
- Excellent writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and creative thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collegially with others in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in environmental law or related fields.
- Familiarity with legislative processes and community engagement strategies.
