Software Engineer - Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer - Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Remote to join our dynamic team at Raytheon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on state-of-the-art missile testing environments, specifically flight simulators that serve as the final step before flight testing. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with weapon system designers to understand system requirements, develop and integrate sophisticated control software, and support the deployment of these systems to ensure the success of tactical missile software development, testing, and delivery.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to develop, test, and maintain software controlling Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) flight simulators for missile testing environments.
- Design, code, and integrate real-time control software tailored to complex hardware systems, ensuring high reliability and performance.
- Support the deployment and commissioning of HWIL systems, including travel up to 20% for development and delivery activities.
- Participate in system troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization to meet rigorous testing standards.
- Contribute to documentation, test plans, and technical reports to support project milestones and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields.
- At least two years of relevant experience in software development.
- Proficiency in C++, especially in object-oriented programming.
- Active and transferable final Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is required before the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to security clearance requirements.
Nice to Have
- Experience with missile systems or aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies.
