Senior Systems Engineer - Telecommunications

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at AOI. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and support for our business goals. As a Senior Systems Engineer remote, you will be responsible for provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of a wide range of IT infrastructure and systems.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with the System Architect and Cyber Security team to manage Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, SAN, and NAS systems.
• Develop system design blueprints based on stakeholder needs.
• Implement and configure servers, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and application software.
• Utilize monitoring tools like Nagios or Splunk to ensure system health and performance.
• Automate repetitive tasks using custom scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Implement security protocols and manage firewalls for system reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the system stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Windows servers.
• Expert knowledge of VMware ESX/ESXi, SAN, and NAS.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or CCNA are preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Virtualization & Containerization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
