About the Role
Grafana Labs is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer – SRE to join our dynamic team. This remote opportunity allows you to work from anywhere in Spain, Germany, the UK, or Sweden. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability of our Grafana Cloud databases, which are integral to our customers' observability strategies.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with product engineering squads to ensure production reliability for high-SLA and complex customer environments.
- Own production reliability for Grafana Cloud’s database products based on Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope.
- Design and implement automation to scale our reliability practices effectively.
- Ensure our customers meet their SLO targets and define per-tenant SLOs and reliability models.
- Proactively reduce SLO burn to prevent repeat incidents and serve as a primary escalation point for relevant incidents.
- Lead customer-impacting incident response and conduct post-incident reviews to improve future performance.
- Contribute to design documentation and code reviews, influencing feature design for production scalability and operability.
- Build automation to eliminate toil and improve alert quality, reducing noisy escalations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS product delivery.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go and familiarity with Docker.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, particularly within the Grafana ecosystem.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first environment and manage on-call responsibilities effectively.

- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices.
- Familiarity with incident management processes and tools.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
