About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team at The Voleon Group. This remote Senior Software Engineer position focuses on developing our post-trade financial systems, utilizing cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our trading systems and data pipelines, which are vital for our machine learning operations.

What You'll Do

  • Design and optimize robust, scalable data infrastructure and real-time stream processing systems using Python, Airflow, Go, and Apache Beam.
  • Develop and maintain observability tools to monitor trading performance and risk, ensuring reliability in operations.
  • Lead the integration of new financial assets and markets, ensuring seamless functionality within existing systems.
  • Enhance the resilience and performance of accounting and reporting systems to meet evolving business needs.
  • Build advanced tooling to unify data from diverse vendors, ensuring consistency across systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research, legal, trading, finance operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver comprehensive accounting systems.
  • Guide and mentor other engineers, sharing best practices and expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on high-performance systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Strong communication and project management skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical direction.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data pipeline technologies like Apache Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with modern Python data science tools (pandas, polars, etc.).
