Senior Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure (Remote)

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure (Remote) to join our innovative team at Notion. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our data infrastructure, ensuring our data pipelines are robust and efficient. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on our platform.

What You'll Do

• Manage and improve Terraform stacks for AWS and Snowflake resources, ensuring services are properly tracked, modularized, and secured.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines with alerting on test failures, PR validation, and deployment guardrails.
• Set up and maintain EMR clusters, tracking health and scaling based on workload needs.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and dashboards to ensure the platform's health and visibility of issues.
• Triage DAG failures and infrastructure alerts during India hours, providing faster response times for the team.

Requirements

• 7+ years as a software or infrastructure engineer with strong DevOps experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred).
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or another object-oriented language.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability tooling (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
• Familiarity with dbt CI/CD patterns and deployment.
• Experience with Apache Spark and/or EMR-based data processing.
