Senior Software Development Manager - Engagement Growth

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Manager, Engagement Growth to join our team at Twitch. As a leader in this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of community engagement through innovative software solutions. This is a remote position that allows you to work from various locations including Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, or New York. Your leadership will guide a team dedicated to enhancing user experiences for millions of daily viewers.

What You'll Do

• Lead one of three engineering teams focused on building engaging experiences for Twitch viewers.
• Design and implement consumer-scale services that power Video on Demand (VODs), Clips, and Stories.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to develop systems that serve millions of users daily.
• Drive the professional growth of your team members through mentorship and structured development planning.
• Develop a long-term roadmap and set strategic direction for a team of 10 engineers.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineering manager.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong background in programming languages such as Golang, Python, C/C++, or Java.
• Proven experience in designing and architecting scalable systems.
• Ability to identify user needs and deliver customer-centric product solutions.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of Golang.
• Familiarity with Twitch as a viewer or creator.
