Senior SDET - Remote Software Development Engineer in Test

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) remote to join our fast-growing startup, Elife Transfer, headquartered in San Francisco, CA. As a Senior SDET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our innovative technology solutions in the passenger transport industry. This position is primarily focused on testing web pages and APIs, leveraging your strong Python expertise.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web UIs, backend services, and APIs using Python.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive automated test suites for web pages and APIs, ensuring high-quality user experiences.
• Perform API contract testing, schema validation, and integration testing across microservices.
• Implement UI automation for cross-browser compatibility and responsive design validation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testability and advocate for best practices in agile sprints.
• Monitor test coverage, analyze failures, and drive root-cause resolutions to reduce escape defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an SDET or QE engineer, with at least 3 years focused on automation in large-scale systems.
• Proven hands-on experience in the ride-hailing or mobility industry, testing real-time features.
• Expert proficiency in Python for test automation.
• Strong expertise in web testing tools and API testing tools.
• Deep knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, cloud platforms, and containerization.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance testing tools for APIs/web.
• Knowledge of contract testing and service virtualization.
• Contributions to open-source automation tools.
