Senior Protection and Control Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to join our innovative team at GE Steam Power. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead the transition to lower carbon energy solutions while working on cutting-edge projects in the energy sector.

What You'll Do

• Review designs for T&D substations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Mentor the secondary design team and act as a technical authority.
• Drive business strategy with technical and economic understanding.
• Lead and coordinate technical aspects of AC power substation projects.
• Review and optimize protection and control designs.
• Interface with internal and external team members to ensure project success.
• Support quality initiatives and demonstrate leadership behaviors.
• Participate in factory acceptance testing and site commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE License in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, or California.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in system protection schemes.
• Experience in design reviews and technical mentoring.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Extensive experience in protective relaying coordination.
• Good understanding of power system components.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
