Senior Estimator - Remote Construction Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team at John Sisk & Son, a family-owned construction company with a global reach. This Senior Estimator remote position is ideal for an experienced construction professional who understands project delivery, resources, and associated risks. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in accurately determining project costs and providing robust estimates that reflect real-world construction methods and conditions.

What You'll Do

• Support the training and professional development of Estimators and Assistant Estimators.
• Log, track, and manage all tender documentation, ensuring timely distribution.
• Prepare subcontractor enquiry schedules and issue clear scopes of work.
• Organize the production of Bills of Quantities and carry out accuracy checks.
• Review design information to identify value engineering opportunities.
• Lead tender reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Prepare documentation for tender settlement, clearly presenting costs and risks.
• Develop cash flow models for bids and manage bid budgets.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Civil Engineering or Construction, with at least 5 years in an estimating role.
• Strong understanding of onsite operations and construction sequencing.
• Experience in preparing tenders and leading submissions.
• Familiarity with the Public Works Contract, FIDIC, NEC, and related forms of contract.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.

Nice to Have

• Membership of a recognized professional body.
• Experience working on Design & Build projects.
• Knowledge of the Irish civil engineering/construction supply chain.
