About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager - Remote to join our dynamic team at Bitso. As a leader in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, you will play a pivotal role in managing engineering teams and driving innovative solutions that enhance user experience and security in a high-volume trading environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring team health and growth.
• Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to define strategies and align on roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to teams, leveraging your deep technical expertise in software engineering and architecture.
• Monitor metrics and goals, ensuring teams have the structure and resources needed for success.
• Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction, facilitating clear discussions with stakeholders.
• Contribute to hiring top engineering talent globally and shape the future of Bitso’s technical organization.
• Influence cross-functional partners and contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for the Engineering organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with at least 2+ years managing managers.
• Strong background in trading or investment platforms.
• Deep technical expertise in software engineering, architecture, and team building.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
• Experience with Git and automated CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of modern delivery practices, including DevOps principles.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the crypto ecosystem and knowledge of trading.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, GRPC, REST, microservices, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Experience working on user-facing products in mobile or web.
• Knowledge of Shape Up or similar product development methodologies.
