About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Newtown, United Kingdom. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a hybrid role within a leading industrial automation company. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will design and develop real-time embedded software for production products, taking ownership of projects from concept to deployment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop embedded C/C++ software for real-time systems and Embedded Linux.
  • Design and review software and system requirements to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Contribute to architecture, planning, and occasionally lead technical projects.
  • Perform automated and manual software testing to validate functionality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to foster a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • BSc or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong C++ experience in real-time and Linux environments.
  • Experience with communication stacks such as TCP/IP and EtherCAT.
  • Embedded development experience on ARM microcontrollers (e.g., NXP, Renesas).
  • Proven track record in embedded software development for industrial applications.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python, C#, .NET, or C.
  • Background in industrial automation, drive systems, or automotive.
  • Exposure to safety-critical or high-reliability systems.
