About the Role

We're looking for a Senior DataOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at KCS IT, where you can work fully remote. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in DataOps to enhance our data engineering operations and analytics platforms. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and accessibility of our data systems.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and support data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics platforms, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Execute data validation, quality checks, and performance tuning using SQL and Python/Shell scripting.
  • Implement monitoring and observability using tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Infra teams to integrate data deployments within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply infrastructure-as-code principles for provisioning and automation of data environments.
  • Support incident management and request management via ServiceNow.
  • Work closely with security and compliance teams to maintain data governance standards.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies within Scrum/Kanban models.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DataOps, Data Engineering Operations, or Analytics Platform Support.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python/Shell scripting for automation and diagnostics.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS; exposure to Azure/GCP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git).
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong grasp of data governance, observability, and quality frameworks.
  • Experience in incident management and operational metrics tracking.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with additional cloud services (Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of advanced data governance practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
