Senior Application Development Manager - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Application Development Manager to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to the application development staff, ensuring effective delivery of business system solutions for the Department of Corrections (DOC). You will collaborate closely with various divisions and departmental shared systems, including Offender Management, Reentry, Health Services, Supply Chain, Financial Services, and HR/Payroll areas.
What You'll Do
- Lead the application development team, overseeing project planning, execution, and ongoing support.
- Manage the delivery and overall performance of business systems solutions.
- Coordinate with functional business groups to ensure the effectiveness of system solutions deployed.
- Review detailed systems specifications to ensure compliance with agency development methodologies and standards.
- Oversee the processes associated with the state’s Vendor Management Solution (VMS) contract.
- Utilize project management methodologies to document and report on project progress, allocate resources, and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Support project enhancements and bug fixes, determining the appropriate project management methodology based on project size and scope.
- Manage projects using agile methodologies, leveraging tools like Jira for tracking.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management related duties, including documentation and resource allocation.
- Experience coordinating and managing project tasks using tracking tools.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Experience in vetting, selection, and enforcement of technology standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a government or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of application development best practices.
- Familiarity with vendor management processes.
