Senior AI Engineer - AI Automation for Blockchain Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer (AI Automation) to join our team at TRM Labs. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building AI-powered applications that enhance our blockchain analytics solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while making a significant impact in the field of cryptocurrency security and fraud detection.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and own full-stack, AI-powered internal applications, including backend services, APIs, data storage, and user-facing interfaces.
• Develop custom agentic solutions leveraging state-of-the-art AI models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) to automate workflows and augment decision-making.
• Embed within internal teams to understand their goals and constraints, translating those needs into technical solutions with clear success criteria.
• Own projects end-to-end, including technical design, architecture decisions, scoping, delivery, iteration, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to expand their understanding of AI capabilities and help shape ambitious solutions.
• Build reliable, scalable systems that touch critical parts of TRM’s operations.
• Continuously evaluate impact and iterate on solutions based on measurable business outcomes.
• Contribute to a fast-moving, high-ownership engineering culture that values quality, velocity, and real-world impact.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience building scalable web applications, services, and APIs.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python, with comfort in frontend development (React or similar frameworks).
• Experience building backend systems and working with various datastores (Postgres/pgvector, Pinecone, Redis) and designing APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and applications, including modern AI models and agentic IDEs.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous problem spaces with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and building trust with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience integrating automated AI Evaluation/Testing/Observability suites.
