About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote Medical Coding Auditor to join our team at PF Concepts. As a Remote Medical Coding Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate medical coding and compliance within acute care facilities. This position allows you to work from anywhere in the world, providing flexibility and independence while contributing to our mission of continuous quality improvement in coding practices.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough audits and reviews of medical records for coding accuracy and compliance.
• Perform hands-on coding as needed, focusing on ProFee coding.
• Review coding for appropriate code selection and documentation support.
• Audit E/M coding to ensure accurate level assignment.
• Support auditing functions for facility services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Provide feedback and education to coders and leadership.
• Stay current on coding guideline updates and best practices.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of coding experience required.
• Coding audit experience required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Working knowledge of payer guidelines and medical necessity principles.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for providing audit feedback.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and coding tools.
• Required coding credentials (CPC, CCS, COC, or CIC).
