Remote Dentist - Comprehensive Care for Diverse Populations
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Remote Dentist to join our team at Akicita Federal, LLC. This position is based at the White Earth Service Unit in Ogema, Minnesota, where you will provide essential dental services to a diverse patient population. As a Remote Dentist, you will focus on delivering comprehensive dental care, including routine, emergency, and specialty treatments, all while being sensitive to cross-cultural differences.
What You'll Do
- Provide dental services including exams, restorative treatments, oral health education, and preventive care.
- Diagnose and treat patients within your professional scope and according to IHS standards.
- Assist in patient care processes, ensuring adherence to safety, infection control, and IHS standards.
- Complete and maintain patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Dental Record (EDR).
- Comply with Joint Commission and CMS standards in a culturally competent manner.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and adhere to IHS and service unit policies.
Requirements
- DMD or DDS from a CODA-accredited institution.
- Unrestricted any state dental license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general dentistry.
- Background check and character investigation as per the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
- Credentialing and fingerprinting required before starting.
- Ability to work in remote areas and travel if necessary, with weather-related travel challenges expected at some locations.
