About the Role
NASA Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Remote Business Systems Analyst to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operational systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. As a Remote Business Systems Analyst, you will gather and analyze data to support business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements. This position will generate and compile reports based on findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to system issues. You will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
What You'll Do
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operational requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
- Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems to enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems.
- Perform cost-benefit return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and provide post-implementation support.
- Create system design proposals and provide guidance to junior staff members.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions.
- Minimum of one year of combined Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, or Management Information Systems experience.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Experience using Microsoft Visio for creating systems models and specifications.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Experience working in a remote team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Intermediate technical knowledge of programming languages used at NASA Federal, including PowerOn, VB.NET, and T-SQL.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience with process automation using an Enterprise Scheduler.
- Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
