Quality and Safety Assistant - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Quality and Safety Assistant to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support the hospital's quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance programs, playing a vital part in maintaining high standards of care.
What You'll Do
- Assist with data collection, entry, validation, and analysis for quality and performance-improvement initiatives.
- Prepare routine quality reports, dashboards, and summaries for committees and leadership.
- Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, and regulatory metrics to ensure compliance.
- Track corrective action plans and follow-up activities related to quality or safety findings.
- Support incident reporting processes, including documentation, follow-up, and trend tracking.
- Maintain logs, records, and documentation related to safety, infection prevention, and Environment of Care (EOC) activities.
- Provide administrative support for safety initiatives, drills, and training events.
- Assist with survey readiness activities, including document preparation and compliance tracking.
- Help maintain accreditation files and required documentation for DNV, CMS, and state surveys.
- Support internal audits, tracers, and mock surveys by gathering data and preparing materials.
- Prepare educational materials, presentations, and staff communications related to quality and safety.
- Coordinate staff training sessions, drills, and competency activities.
- Communicate quality and safety initiatives across departments.
- Provide administrative support to Quality, Safety, Infection Prevention, and EOC committees.
- Assist the Director of Quality and the Director of Safety and Accreditation with job-related functions.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, attendance logs, and follow-up documentation.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Uphold organizational values and regulatory expectations in all aspects of work.
- Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times, following HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and co-workers in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; an associate’s degree in healthcare or related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in Quality, Safety, or Healthcare Accreditation is preferred.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
