Join the Ethereum Foundation as a Protocol Security Intern - Remote, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking research in blockchain technology and security. What You'll Do

  • Engage in advanced research on blockchain systems and contribute to foundational and applied research challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Ethereum Foundation researchers and other contributors.
  • Manage the bug bounty program and monitor the Ethereum network for vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to public-facing materials, including blog posts and technical reports.
  • Participate in a 12-week internship during summer 2026, with a remote work option available.
  • Attend an in-person cohort meetup during the summer to enhance networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • Current university enrollment in computer science, cryptography, mathematics, or economics.
  • Strong interest in Ethereum and decentralized technologies.
  • Experience with AI tooling for security.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Rust.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with Ethereum basics, including the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and transactions.
  • Basic understanding of cryptography concepts and code reviews from a security perspective.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in blockchain or security-related internships.
  • Knowledge of network security principles.
  • Familiarity with smart contracts and their security implications.
