Production Forklift Operator - Casual Role in Food Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Production Forklift Operator to join our team at J.R. Simplot in Devonport. This Production Forklift Operator remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Safely transport processed products between production areas, freezers, and cool stores.
• Utilize fork-mounted RF systems and radio communications effectively.
• Operate within cold storage and freezer environments, stacking bins of frozen products.
• Conduct pre-start checks on forklift equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Change and charge spent batteries for electric forklifts as needed.
• Adhere to site safety and operational policies while contributing to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Current LF forklift license and demonstrated operating experience.
• Commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Ability to work a variety of 8-hour shifts across a 7-day roster.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.

• Aptitude testing as part of the recruitment process.
