About the Role

We are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team at SmartCore, a leading fintech holding focused on payment processing. This remote position offers the opportunity to lead infrastructure development for our innovative payment solutions. As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-speed and secure payment processing while maintaining a strong engineering culture.

What You'll Do

  • Design fault-tolerant architecture for payment processing, ensuring high availability and security.
  • Lead a small team of DevOps engineers, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices in collaboration with the CTO.
  • Write and maintain Terraform code to manage infrastructure as code.
  • Ensure PCI DSS compliance and security governance across all accounts.
  • Organize and test disaster recovery plans to maintain operational resilience.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring and guiding teams.
  • Deep knowledge of PCI DSS requirements and experience in building compliant infrastructures.
  • Expertise in AWS, particularly in managing multi-account environments.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Amazon ECS.
  • Proficient in writing maintainable Terraform code.
  • Fluent in English (B2+ level).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GitOps practices using ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Understanding of FinOps principles to balance cost and security.
