About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Press Spokesperson (Volunteer) to join the German Aid Association e.V. in a fully remote capacity. This role offers 100% flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world while contributing to a meaningful cause. As a Press Spokesperson, you will play a crucial role in shaping our public image and ensuring our message reaches a wider audience.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement a clear, strategic press communication plan that aligns with the goals of the German Aid Association.
  • Build and maintain a nationwide press distribution list to enhance our media presence.
  • Write press releases, statements, quotes, and background information to effectively communicate our initiatives.
  • Coordinate press inquiries and prepare for interviews, press appointments, and sound bites.
  • Officially represent the association at press events, trade fairs, and public appointments.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of DEHIB-owned events in terms of press work.
  • Advise the federal board on media-effective positioning and public appearances.

Requirements

  • Completed studies or professional experience in journalism, media, communication, or public relations.
  • Confident and professional demeanor towards editorial offices and media houses.
  • Excellent written and verbal expression in the German language.
  • Understanding of political, social, and economic contexts.
  • Experience in dealing with press and media contacts is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • High motivation, identification with the DEHIB brand, and willingness to proactively shape our communication strategy.
  • Structured, independent working style and digital affinity.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a nonprofit organization.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
