Panel Saw Operator - Manufacturing Role

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Panel Saw Operator to join our team at Owens Corning in Wahpeton, ND. As a Panel Saw Operator, you will be responsible for the precise and efficient operation of panel saws to cut door core components to specified dimensions. This role is crucial in ensuring that components are cut accurately and meet quality standards, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing process. This is a full-time position with a shift schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

• Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Make minor adjustments to the panel saw to maintain product tolerance.
• Stack and band boards and pieces onto a lift table or cart in an orderly fashion.
• Communicate safety-related issues or concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
• Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the work area free from clutter.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork in a neat and legible manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred background in agricultural or industrial settings.
• Ability to lift and move boards weighing 50 – 75 lbs. (with assistance).
• Excellent safety awareness for self and others.
• Good mechanical skills and proficiency in operating PLC screens.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of multiple numbers and fractions.
• Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

• Ability to work without constant supervision.
