Mission Manager for Space Sensing - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Mission Manager for Space Sensing to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). This Mission Manager for Space Sensing remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate critical projects that support national security and space science initiatives. As a Mission Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex projects that integrate engineering, testing, and simulation within the Space Sensing mission area.
What You'll Do
- Manage and coordinate work across various Space program areas in support of the Space Sensing mission area.
- Oversee project execution plans for assigned research and development projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for relevant U.S. Government stakeholders and commercial partners.
- Develop an integrated strategy for the Space Sensing mission area, addressing national security needs.
- Lead and develop new program opportunities and research proposals in collaboration with sponsors and customers.
- Provide expert leadership and strategic planning for both analytic and scientific research environments.
- Deliver assessments and identify technical gaps in the space sensing community.
- Prepare and present briefings to senior management and U.S. Government decision-makers.
Requirements
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance.
- Master’s degree in physical science, engineering, political science, economics, or a related discipline.
- Expert knowledge of space sensing systems and spacecraft engineering practices.
- Substantial experience managing large multidisciplinary projects and teams.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills for effective presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate with personnel to achieve project objectives.
- Experience working in a classified environment with multi-agency security requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
Nice to Have
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience managing a multi-million-dollar project portfolio.
