Mid-Senior Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Senior Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer to join our well-established global manufacturing company. This role is based in Davenport, IA, and while it is not remote, it offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading provider of innovative architectural products. As a Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our cast house combustion systems.

What You'll Do

• Act as a combustion safety expert for the casting facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Drive the implementation and development of thermal best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Create and track proactive measures to ensure stable furnace performance and maximize melt rates.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with our decarbonization strategy.
• Lead problem-solving teams to address chronic equipment and process issues within your area of expertise.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors of thermal and combustion equipment, staying updated on industry developments.
• Provide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projects.
• Utilize Rockwell PLCs for troubleshooting and optimizing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years focused on thermal and combustion safety.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.

• Experience with advanced combustion technologies.
