Mid-Senior Detection and Response Engineer - AI Security

We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior Detection and Response Engineer to join our team at Anthropic. What You'll Do
- Lead cybersecurity incident response efforts, addressing external attacks and insider threats across all layers of Anthropic’s technology stack.
- Develop and deploy innovative tooling that leverages Large Language Models to enhance detection, investigation, and response capabilities.
- Create and optimize detections, playbooks, and workflows to ensure rapid identification and response to potential incidents.
- Review incident response metrics and procedures, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other security and engineering teams to enhance overall security posture.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to security incidents as they arise.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on security preferred, or 5+ years in detection engineering, incident response, or threat hunting.
- Strong understanding of cloud environments and operations.
- Experience working with engineering teams in a SaaS environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead projects with minimal guidance.
- Experience handling security incidents and investigating anomalies as part of a team.
- Familiarity with EDR, SIEM, SOAR, or related security tools.
Nice to Have
- Experience performing security operations or investigations in large-scale Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in Python and query languages such as SQL.
- Experience analyzing attack behavior and prototyping high-quality detections.
- Knowledge of threat intelligence, malware analysis, infrastructure as code, detection engineering, or forensics.
- Experience contributing to a high-growth startup environment.
