Mechanical Engineer - Defense Technology

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team at Anduril Industries. This Mechanical Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced defense technology projects that transform military capabilities. You will be part of a dynamic team that designs and builds cutting-edge systems powered by AI and robotics.

What You'll Do

• Conduct mechanical design and analysis of solid rocket motor components, including motor cases, nozzles, and igniters.
• Perform CAD design activities and finite element analysis of structural and thermal systems.
• Generate, review, and release product definitions, including engineering drawings.
• Create detailed reports and presentations documenting your analysis and findings.
• Present your work during design reviews to peers and customers.
• Support prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations at our facilities.
• Own the development of critical subsystems from cradle to grave.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD and finite element analysis (FEA) software.
• Strong understanding of hardware manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to travel as needed (10-25% travel anticipated).
• Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NX CAD software and/or Abaqus FEA software.
• Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Expertise in engineering tool development using Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, or Python.
• Experience with propulsion systems.
