Marketing & Communications Intern - Hybrid Remote in Boston
About the Role
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team at Upstream USA. This Marketing & Communications Intern remote position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of marketing and communications while working in a hybrid model, with two days in the Boston office. You will contribute to various aspects of our MarComms function, supporting operations, content marketing, branding, public relations, and internal communications.
What You'll Do
- Assist with website content updates via WordPress CMS, ensuring our online presence is engaging and informative.
- Support marketing operations by managing the HubSpot email marketing system, monitoring performance, and improving data cleanliness.
- Analyze performance metrics across social media, email campaigns, and web traffic, translating raw data into actionable insights for the team.
- Extract impactful quotes from video transcripts to identify hooks for target audiences and contribute to a centralized MarComms quote database.
- Develop engaging content for LinkedIn, ensuring alignment with Upstream’s brand voice and engagement goals.
- Create social media graphics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to enhance our online branding efforts.
- Support daily news monitoring and assist with intranet maintenance and updates.
- Help track engagement metrics for internal newsletters and prepare presentations summarizing survey findings for leadership.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience with file management in Google Drive and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with website CMS (WordPress, Wix) and/or email marketing platforms (HubSpot, MailChimp) is a plus.
- Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to the MarComms function.
Nice to Have
- Experience in graphic design or content creation.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Google Analytics.
- Previous internship experience in marketing or communications.
