Logistics and Materials Handling Technician - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Logistics and Materials Handling Technician to join our team at Yara International. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in an industrial chemical production environment, handling materials such as Ammonium Nitrate (AN) and Ammonium Nitrate Solution (ANSol). As a Logistics and Materials Handling Technician remote, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our logistics processes.
What You'll Do
- Handle and load Ammonium Nitrate (AN) and Ammonium Nitrate Solution (ANSol) in various formats including bagged, bulk, and containerized.
- Operate heavy machinery such as ITCs, forklifts, and conveyors to facilitate bulk material handling.
- Coordinate with external logistics providers to ensure timely dispatch of trucks and materials.
- Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings to discuss logistics operations and safety protocols.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Complete SAP transactions and maintain accurate documentation for material movements.
- Provide training and supervision to junior personnel as you gain experience in the role.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in mining, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
- Proven experience with chemical or bulk material handling and mobile plant operation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work safely in a Major Hazard Facility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must hold relevant tickets such as Forklift, Integrated Tool Carrier, and EWP.
- Australian/NZ citizenship or permanent residency is essential.
Nice to Have
- Cert III in Logistics, Business, Process Plant, ESI, or RII.
- Experience with SAP and exposure to Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods handling.
