About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Kubernetes Security Consultant - Remote to join our team at NewGen Technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of Kubernetes environments and contributing to impactful national security projects. As a remote consultant, you will work with a team of experts in cybersecurity, providing innovative solutions that enhance the security posture of our clients.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct security assessments and audits of Kubernetes environments to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Implement security best practices and policies for Kubernetes deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide guidance on risk management and vulnerability management strategies.
  • Engage with clients to understand their security needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends affecting Kubernetes and cloud environments.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for clients and team members.
  • Support incident response efforts and contribute to the development of incident response plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on Kubernetes security.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and best practices for Kubernetes.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat intelligence.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Kubernetes Security Specialist.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients effectively.
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation tools.
  • TS/SCI Clearance is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Knowledge of security products and tools used in Kubernetes environments.
  • German language proficiency is a plus.
