About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer - UAV Systems to join our innovative team at Twentyfour Industries. This is a hands-on role where you will work on advanced small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to enhance European sovereignty and security. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in designing, prototyping, and assembling mechanical systems, making this an exciting opportunity for those looking to grow in a practical engineering environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies for UAV platforms and related systems.
  • Build, test, and iterate on prototypes using 3D printing and hands-on fabrication techniques.
  • Support the transition from prototype designs to production-ready parts.
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical subsystems, including basic soldering work.
  • Collaborate closely with electronics, autonomy, and operations teams to solve practical integration challenges.
  • Learn and apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles as designs mature toward manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Graduate or early-career engineer (0–2 years) with a bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Curious, practical, and motivated to build, test, and improve real hardware.
  • Comfortable moving between CAD design and hands-on bench work.
  • Enjoy learning by doing and iterating quickly based on real-world feedback.
  • Eligible to obtain a NATO security clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • UAV piloting experience.
  • Exposure to PX4 or other drone control stacks.
  • Deeper knowledge of 3D printing (materials, optimization, troubleshooting).
  • Experience with plastic injection molding and DFM/DFA principles.
