Housing Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to join the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) team. This Housing Specialist remote position offers a unique opportunity to support immigrants and refugees in achieving housing stability in Portland, Oregon. As a Housing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in empowering low-income households to reach their self-sufficiency goals.
What You'll Do
- Assess potential client program eligibility and meet individually with clients to help them define and work towards their housing goals.
- Provide case management services, assisting participants with paperwork and case notes related to rental funds.
- Maintain case files and enter data into Multnomah County’s Service Point data system.
- Distribute assistance funds to clients' landlords or utility companies.
- Refer clients to other sources of assistance to help them achieve their goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and committees to support the Housing Stability Program.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle for transportation to various locations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse personality types.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in case management or social services is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with immigrant and refugee populations.
- Knowledge of housing resources and programs in Clackamas County.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate clients' needs.

Who Will Succeed Here
