About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Seibersdorf Laboratories Services Section to lead our team in ensuring the efficient operation of the IAEA’s laboratories. This role is pivotal in providing strategic direction and oversight of site services, ensuring safety and compliance with international standards. As the Head of Seibersdorf Laboratories Services Section, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of various operational aspects, making this a vital position within our organization.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Seibersdorf Laboratories Services Section, ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery.
- Provide strategic leadership and management to a diverse team of 35 staff, including technicians and IT support.
- Plan, organize, and evaluate team performance, focusing on excellence in line with IAEA's quality management approach.
- Manage all activities related to facility management, infrastructure development, and local procurement.
- Coordinate with civil authorities and safety services to implement security and emergency measures for safe laboratory operations.
- Develop and oversee procedures for handling hazardous materials in compliance with UN and national regulations.
- Facilitate training courses and seminars, ensuring continuous professional development of staff.
- Keep abreast of best practices in engineering and safety management to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in technical engineering, facility management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an international context.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing medium to large teams.
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of other IAEA languages is an asset.
- Experience with quality assurance and industrial safety is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response protocols.
- Experience in managing complex projects in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with international safety and security regulations.
