Head of Accounting /​ Director of Finance - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Eigen Labs is seeking a Head of Accounting / Director of Finance to lead our accounting function in a fully remote capacity. As the Head of Accounting, you will ensure the financial integrity of our organization while driving automation and efficient operations. This role is pivotal as we continue to build the trust layer for the internet, making digital interactions more reliable.

What You'll Do

• Lead, develop, and support the accounting team while driving automation and efficient operations.
• Build cross-functional relationships to drive process improvements, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues.
• Support corporate planning processes with financial insights and forecasts.
• Provide guidance in all aspects of accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies and support overall business objectives.
• Support internal and external audits and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience, including ownership of close, controls, and audit processes, ideally in a high-growth startup or crypto environment.
• Hands-on experience with crypto-native accounting, including token-related activities, treasury management, and on-chain/off-chain reconciliation.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with international accounting standards.
• Deep understanding of cryptocurrency tax, regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting audits and tax compliance from either side of the table, ideally both.
• Resourceful self-management skills with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Collaborative spirit, thriving in teamwork and celebrating successes.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a remote work environment.
• Previous roles in the crypto or blockchain industry.
• Familiarity with financial software and tools used in crypto accounting.
